Hello and welcome! I'm Denise Johnson, an alcohol ink Artist, life long Creator, Healer and a bit of a Magician! I've been doing artsy things all my life. The earliest recollection is taking a wooden cutout of a chicken and gluing dried beans to it. Thankfully, I've picked up a few more creative skills along the way. Chickens are still with me, beans, not so much..
I paint with pure magic called alcohol inks. They come in small bottles. A Wild Child with a mind of its own and an attitude of LET'S PLAY! And the colors - oh my yes, the colors! These inks create stunning effects that no other medium can produce. I have many tools and techniques up my sleeve; alcohol brush, squirt bottles, spray bottles, stampers, paper towel, toilet paper....ABRACADABRA!
I've discovered by using my intuition in following where the inks lead, my paintings take on a life of their own. I paint on Corian, a beautiful material usually used for expensive countertops. My husband has a Corian cutting board business and purchases scraps that would otherwise be headed for a landfill. He garage crafts beautiful and functional Corian cutting boards. I scoop up his scraps (sometimes I help myself to non-scraps, don't tell him) and transform them into beautiful works of art.
In January of 2022, I was gifted the knowledge of a seriously powerful self help drawing method I have named L.O.V.E. or "Lines Of Vibrational Energy" It is easy to do, no art skills required and best of all, ANYONE can do it and it's FUN! I can envision L.O.V.E. drawing being offered in schools, nursing homes, jails, hospitals and how about family fun night! That's my the mission I've been given and my intention is to have everyone who has learned the method, to pass it on, and on, and on.

Where my magic happens in the beautiful boonies of northern Wisconsin.
It was quite a bit of hard work but with a tremendous amount of help from my husband Coby and my son, Cavan, it's done! I especially love the wood wall made up of 550 wood disks that contained magical creatures. It's a small space measuring 12x16' but it's my dream come true! MAY 2021

Welcome! Come join me and let's create something beautiful with this powerful magic called Alcohol Inks - a medium unlike any other! No previous art experience or skill is needed to create spectacular paintings. If you can draw a straight line or a crooked line, you’ll have guaranteed success. I'll be there with my positive energy and enthusiasm to guide you at your own pace. You'll soon discover that with alcohol inks, there are no mistakes. Above all we'll have FUN! We'll be painting on various surfaces including Corian which is my most favorite. The inks play beautifully on this surface. I'll have a wide arrange of inks and tools. We'll explore different methods of playing with the inks that will leave you amazed and dazed! I give you permission to have fun and play like a 5 year old. Remember those days? I'll do demonstrations throughout the afternoon sharing my tips, tricks and secret stuff I've learned during my 10 years of painting with alcohol inks.

The inks have the ability to transform themselves into compelling images which are often individually interpreted offering insight into hidden internal thoughts and emotions. When least expected, flowers, people, animals, trees, birds and every sort of magical apparition make an appearance. Happy accidents abound. Painting with alcohol inks is like a beautiful dance where at times the inks lead and you will follow. At other times you'll be the leader. The pinnacle is reached when you're in harmony and you dance together.

EI EI OH Boy! Come join me for an unforgettable and unique alcohol ink painting experience on my hobby farm in the beautiful boonies of north central Wisconsin. We'll paint under the pines on the shore of picturesque Chelsea Lake. All levels from beginner to beyond are invited to enjoy this day of playing with magical alcohol inks, good company, laughter and, relaxation on the farm! Bring treats! My chickens prefer green stuff, Chili Dog and Cubby Bear our Shelties and Barn Kitties aren't picky! Rain or shine! We'll head to OuterSpace or undercover if it rains.
Make it a road trip! Ample lodging and campgrounds are available in Medford WI and the surrounding area. Great fishing in many of the area lakes. Visit Timm's Hill, climb the lookout tower and enjoy the view of the highest elevation in Wisconsin! Northern Wisconsin is truly God's Country..
